![]() You can shoot Adrian an email over at CH-i, and ask for his recommendations. Usually the MFG're will have placed the return spring on the pump diaphragm, that being UMS, and I further suspect that if the electric pump was critical in the running of the engine, it would have come in the box as part of the needed essentials, or at least mentioned the necessity of the electric pump in the manual. ![]() The ECM cannot sense a fuel pressure drop in the fuel line. Tank location would be key to running with out the electric pump. ECM engages the Fuel Realy for a few seconds, by default when the key turns to ON position but once the engine starts cranking and the ECM 'feels' it through the cams, crancks sensors, it keeps the relay into an engaged position so that the Fuel Pump keeps working. There is mention on flying giants forum, of them running these radials both with, or without the electric fuel pump. To use the induction pulse to drive the pump, a small return spring is placed on one side of the pump diaphragm to allow the pump diaphragm to oscillate. The intake induction pulses could normally be used to operate the integral fuel pump in the WT, but I suspect the pulses to be very close to each other and would not be very effective in driving the WT internal fuel pump. They do show the electric fuel pump in the section covering the fuel tank installation recommendations, but it's not listed in the "items needed to complete" section.
